35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ 37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? 39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
Matthew 25:35-40

Minister Reginald Bass
Founder & CEO
Reginald Bass has spent over 30 years providing services to men, women and families in crisis situation including: recovery from drugs, alcohol and other addictive behaviors; incarceration, returning citizens, mental health challenges,
veterans, homelessness, marital issues, hospital visitation, home care, hospice care, funerals, bereavement, mentoring and discipleship.
His current work with the non-profit he founded allows him to create a friendly non-competitive environment which allows clients to develop their gifts, talents and abilities, giving them a feeling of accomplishment while, with the assistance of counselors, making their own life decisions.
Minister Bass is not opposed to sharing his story of life BC (before Christ) if it will help individuals and families in crisis. He was born and raised on the mean streets of NYC; struggled as a child with a debilitating heart that caused him to be bullied and ostracized.
After receiving a call from God to preach the Gospel “Reggie” spent 20 of his young adult years traveling in a band in direct rebellion against God’s calling on his life. Until God decided it was time and sent a storm his way of such a magnitude that he knew it was time to answer the call. And so, along with his wife Sharon, he has devoted his life serving in ministry.

Sharon Bass
Co-Founder/CFO
Responsible for monitoring budgetary and administrative functions, including all administrative
activities, special projects, accounts payable, budgeting. As well as accounts receivable, monitoring and monthly reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of financial reports.
When asked why she volunteers to serve in this capacity - her response is that God gave her a little bit of knowledge and it's her responsibility to use it to build up His kingdom. Sharon has worked in the accounting field for over 20 years in non-profit entities.
Her favoirate scripture is Romans 12:1-2. She strives everyday to live a sacrifical life for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:1-2

I wanted to do something to stem the tide of recidivism. To help stop individuals from going back and forth to jail. I wanted to help men have a chance at life. Pastor Bass came to me with a vision. That vision was 1 Step at a Time. We have a place for individuals to come and stay and feel safe in a loving, caring and spiritual environment. We help individuals with basic house needs, addiction and most important a solid foundation for success to become productive citizens.
The goal of the program is to help men realize their potential in an environment where they can feel safe. When we can provide a safe place for them, they can heal and work toward what God has called them to do. Proverbs 20:5 says, " Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out ". Pastor Bass and I pray every meeting that we can instill wisdom along with knowledge to help men be the best they can be.

I serve 1SAAT because it provides the comforts of home while guiding, ministering, and counseling individuals who search for their personal path in life. Each of us has a God chosen path. Supplying furniture, bedding, life skills, and other requests for 1SAAT participants has been my contribution to assisting them in this quest.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…”

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
